A weekend fire has caused extensive damage to a home in the Kennebecasis Valley.
Emergency crews were called to Rafferty Court in Quispamsis around 4:30 Sunday afternoon.
“There was heavy fire damage to the building,” said Bill Ireland, chief of the Kennebecasis Valley Fire Department.
Ireland said about a dozen firefighters tackled the blaze and were on the scene for about three-and-a-half hours.
The homeowners were away at the time, he said. According to a release from the fire department, they are currently staying with family.
Ireland said the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
