New Brunswick health officials are reporting two new cases of COVID-19 Saturday, both in the Campbellton zone.
The two new cases involve one individual in their 20s, and another in their 50s. Both are self-isolating, and the cases remain under investigation.
Campbellton is still in the orange phase of the province’s pandemic recovery plan, and residents are asked to limit their contacts to a single household, with an additional caregiver or family member if necessary.
There are now 72 active cases in the province, down from 75 on Friday.
Six individuals are now in the hospital, and one remains in the ICU.
In a statement issued from the provincial government, the chief medical officer of health said all New Brunswickers have a role in slowing the spread of COVID-19.
“Everyone needs to continue to follow public health measures no matter what corner of the province you live in,” Dr. Jennifer Russell said. “Wash your hands, practice physical distancing, wear your mask, stay home when you are feeling sick and get tested for COVID-19.”
