Officials have issued an advisory to motorists who are travelling along Route 117 in Kouchibouguac National park.
Parks Canada says drivers must be very careful, due to wildlife, including moose, and bears who are frequently seen along roadsides at this time of year.
Visitors are being asked to slow down, and avoid driving at dusk or dawn.
Officials advise, if you do encounter wildlife, stay in your vehicle and continue on at a reduced rate of speed.
When visiting Kouchibouguac National Park, visitors are asked to respect the following regulations and recommendations to ensure their safety and the safety of wildlife:
1. Be on the lookout: scan the roadside for wildlife.
2. Respect all posted speed limits.
3. When possible, avoid driving at dusk or dawn.
4. Keep a safe distance.
5. If you encounter wildlife beside the road, SLOW DOWN, STAY in your vehicle and MOVE ON.
6. Never feed wildlife.
7. Keep your dog on a leash at all times.
8. Respect all trail/area restrictions, warnings and closures.
