The Prime Minister is taking the blame for how he handled a student volunteer program.
Trudeau said he should have recused himself from his involvement with the WE charity.
“I think Canadians will make their judgements about what we were trying to do and what I should have done instead of staying involved in these conversations, but at the same time I’m going to stay focused on delivering for Canadians so we can get through this pandemic,” Trudeau said.
The Prime Minister said he regrets having his mother involved in a paid speaking engagement with the WE charity and that he deeply regrets being involved and should have recused himself.
“I knew that my brother and my mother worked as professional public speakers and it’s not surprising to me that they got paid by WE. I did not know the details, but I should have known the details, and I regret that,” Trudeau said.
