Public Health is reporting no new cases of COVID-19 in New Brunswick today.
The province now has 14 active cases of the virus.
Two patients remain in hospital with one in intensive care.
Chief medical officer of health Dr. Jennifer Russell says we can expect more cases in the weeks ahead until a vaccine or treatment is found.
“Based on how we’ve managed the outbreaks so far that we’ve seen, I am confident with the approach that we’ve used that we can continue to manage these outbreaks as they emerge,” she says.
With larger gatherings now permitted, Dr. Russell adds it’s still important not to forget about public health guidelines such as physical distancing.
As of today, 41,690 COVID-19 tests have been conducted.
In the Campbellton region (Zone 5) outbreak, 28 individuals have recovered and there have been two deaths.
Zone 5 will be moving to the Yellow level of pandemic recovery on Friday allowing more businesses to reopen.
The state of emergency mandatory order was renewed today under the authority of the Emergency Measures Act.
