A series of drive-in concerts is being organized in Greater Moncton by Amber Effect Events and Entertainment Plus Moncton over the New Brunswick Day long weekend.
Terry Parker of Entertainment Plus Moncton says they’ll be hosting 3 shows at the Beausejour amphitheater in Solomon Gardens, featuring local artists and vendors.
“There will be three bands each night. On Friday the Divorcees are going to headline, Jason Haywood Band will also be performing along with Frantically Atlantic, a band from Fredericton. Saturday is FM Berlin headlining and also the Mike Biggar Band from Saint John and also the Kendra Gale Band. And then on Sunday, a country flavoured show, Ivan Daigle will be headlining and we’ll have opening acts Andy Bast and Flo Durelle who will be performing with Scott & Gerald Delhunty,” he says.
Attendees will enjoy the show from the comfort of their own vehicle via FM transmission.
Parker says the field can accommodate up to 300 vehicles and performances will be projected onto a large screen to ensure that everyone can see the show.
He says the idea stems from a similar initiative in Norway, in an effort to offer live entertainment while staying safe from COVID-19.
Food trucks will also be on site, offering mobile orders and volunteers will be delivering right to your vehicle.
Tickets are on sale now and you can choose from nightly or weekend passes. They can be purchased through Eventbrite.
