Public Health announced one new case of COVID-19 on Saturday, June 20.
The new case is an individual in their fifties in the Zone 5 Campbellton region.
The total number of cases in the province remains at 164, as a previously confirmed case has now been deemed a ‘false positive.’
Two patients remain in hospital due to COVID-19, with one of those cases in the intensive care unit.
27 active cases remain in the province, while two people have died and 135 have recovered.
The province has opened testing to individuals exhibiting just one symptom of the virus.
Those symptoms include:
- fever above 38°C or signs of fever (such as chills)
- a new cough or worsening chronic cough
- sore throat
- runny nose
- headache
- a new onset of fatigue
- a new onset of muscle pain
- diarrhea
- loss of sense of taste or loss of sense of smell
- in children, purple markings on the fingers or toes
