More restrictions are being loosened as most of New Brunswick enters the next phase of the Yellow level of pandemic recovery.
Any businesses that are still closed such as casinos, cinemas, bingo halls and amusement parks can open next Friday, June 26.
Premier Blaine Higgs says indoor visitations are now being allowed at long-term care facilities.
“While we are giving these facilities permission to allow indoor visits, I know not every facility will be in a position to do so immediately. Facilities will be required to develop a plan to manage visitation in advance,” he says.
Overnight camps are now permitted and the 50-person limit on outdoor gatherings is being lifted today.
If anyone owns property in New Brunswick, they can enter the province as long as they self-isolate for 14 days.
Canadians can also visit family here if they self-isolate for two weeks.
Higgs added opening up provincial borders with other Atlantic provinces could happen in early July but he couldn’t provide an exact date.
Meantime, movement between other Canadian provinces may happen later in July.
Also next Friday, June 26, the Campbellton region – Zone 5 – is expected to move from the Orange to the Yellow level of recovery.
