The province has now had two deaths related to COVID-19, and three new cases were announced on June 13.
The patient had been a resident at the Atholville long-term care facility, Manoir de la Vallée, and was between the ages of 80 and 89.
The province’s chief medical officer of health, Dr. Jennifer Russell, asked that all New Brunswickers extend condolences to the family and friends of the individual.
All three of the new cases are in the Campbellton Zone 5 region.
Two of the cases are employees at the Campbellton Regional Hospital, and the other is a health-care employee at Manoir de la Vallée.
One individual is between the ages of 20-29, another is between the ages of 30-39, and the third case is an individual between the ages of 50-59.
The province has now had 157 confirmed cases of COVID-19, and 29 cases remain active. 126 cases have recovered, while four patients remain in hospital and one is in the intensive care unit.
