The death of a 26-year-old man from Waterborough this weekend is being investigated as a homicide.
Police responded to a report of a firearms incident at a house on Highway 102 in Upper Gagetown on Sunday evening.
According to an RCMP release, a woman in the home reported being assaulted. The woman was able to exit the home and was taken to the hospital with “serious but non-life threatening injuries.”
Police gained entry to the home early Monday morning, where they discovered the body of the 26-year-old victim, and the body of a 53-year-old man from Upper Gagetown. A firearm was also discovered on the scene.
The RCMP release states criminality is not believed to be suspected in the death of the man from Upper Gagetown.
Autopsies on both bodies are being conducted, and the investigation is ongoing.
