Plans for a $6-million, 32-unit mixed-use development called The Telegraph are moving forward.
Developers Stephen Brittain and Lee Seale have bought the parking lot at Canterbury and Grannan Streets in Saint John following a required technical review to ensure the location can support a six-storey structure.
Construction is set to begin in late spring on the development which also includes plans for street-level retail or commercial space.
Five stories of The Telegraph will be wood frame construction, a first of its kind in Saint John.
Officials say one benefit is a shorter build time, leading to less disruption for residents, business owners and customers in a busy retail block on Canterbury Street.
The developers expect it will take a year to complete The Telegraph with a busy period of construction expected this summer.
