It is now time to lace up your skates and hit the ice at Lily Lake in Rockwood Park.
The city says it is now safe for public skating as the ice is 25 centimetres thick in several areas.
But city equipment will not be used to clear snow from the ice until it’s at least 30 centimetres thick.
Skaters are reminded to heed any warning signs posted on and around the ice.
“Certain areas may not always be safe for skating,” said the city in a news release Monday. “Springs in the lake prevent strong ice from forming in some areas.”
The city said it will continue to monitor ice conditions and may have to close the lake to skating if conditions change.
