If you’ve been feeling deflated this month, you’re not alone and could be suffering from the January blues.
The holidays are over but the bills are still arriving and the days are short while the nights are long.
Dietitian Noreen Wales says it’s important to take care of yourself at this time of year.
“Making sure that you are eating a balanced diet, moving your body the way it was intended to be moved, getting adequate sleep and also practicing mindfulness so that you’re aware of what’s going on in your world,” she notes.
Wales says when it’s cold outside, it’s easy to stay warm and cozy inside.
But she notes how there are lots of outdoor activities to enjoy during the winter and it could be something as simple as taking the dog for a walk.
She adds being in the cold is actually invigorating since we spend so much time indoors.
