A former Fredericton radio host facing child sex charges in Puerto Rico intends to change his plea to guilty.
Trevor Doyle was due to stand trial Monday on a charge of attempted sexual enticement of a minor.
But according to court documents obtained by our newsroom, Doyle filed a motion for a change of plea during a status conference on Friday.
“Mr. Doyle very respectfully moves for the scheduling of a hearing where he can change his previously entered plea of not guilty to one of guilty,” said the documents.
A plea deal was offered to Doyle and his counter-offer was accepted, according to the documents.
The details of the plea deal have not been released. A 10-day term was requested to finalize and draft the agreement.
A change of plea hearing has been set for Feb. 13.
Doyle was arrested during an FBI operation in Isle Verde on April 3, 2019.
