This is crunch time for Canada Post as last minute deliveries are made before Christmas.
The mail processing plant in Dieppe is one of the busiest in the region.
Canada Post supervisor Scott Ferguson says the facility recently expanded by another 25,000 square feet.
“It opened a few weeks ago and this will house our new conveyor coming by next summer. We are going to have a gravity-fed conveyor and we will be able to offload almost three tractor trailers (of mail) at a time,” he notes.
Ferguson doesn’t anticipate additional staff will be needed since many employees will be reassigned within the plant.
He adds the expansion will make the Dieppe facility the parcel hub for Atlantic Canada.
