A structure fire Friday morning kept crews from the Kennebecasis Valley Fire Department busy for a couple of hours.
Platoon Chief Mike Boyle says firefighters were quick to arrive on the scene.
“Around 3:30 a.m. we were dispatched to a structure fire on Vincent Road in Quispamsis. When the crews arrived they found a fire in the basement and the homeowners, a family of three, evacuated because their smoke alarms alerted them to get out of the house,” said Boyle.
“Crews were able to knock the fire down quickly. There was a lot of fire damage in the basement and smoke damage throughout the house, but no one was injured.”
The cause of the fire is now under investigation and the Canadian Red Cross stepped in to help the family.
