A video making the rounds on social media is raising awareness of children’s cancer, and those who have lost their battle with the disease.
Chris CollinsĀ lost his 13-year-old son Sean to cancer in 2007 after a four year battle.
The video features a song by well known 80’s musician Rick Springfield, “He wrote a song called Saint Sahara. It is being used in a video by Coast to Coast Against Cancer and Children’s Cancer Canada to help raise awareness. They reached out to me and to other Canadian families. I gladly accepted, because I know Sean would be very proud and happy to make sure he is still a part in this fight against children’s cancer,” Collins says.
Sean Collins photo is one of the many being used in the video.
“It is such a touching video and when you see the impact of all of these children who have lost their lives due to this horrible, horrible disease,” Collins says.
He adds 1700 children are diagnosed with cancer in Canada every year, and one in five, that’s around 230 of them will die of the disease.
