The Hilton Belyea Arena in Saint John is closed until further notice for what the city describes as “unplanned maintenance operations.”
Officials say work is underway to shave and rebuild the ice surface to address safety concerns identified during routine inspections.
“The City expects this work will take a week to complete and will notify the public once the arena reopens,” said the city in a news release Friday.
Public skating is still available at the city’s three other arenas — Charles Gorman Arena, Stewart Hurley Arena, and Peter Murray Arena.
