City dwellers can get up close with cows and alpacas today.
Today is Open Farm Day when farms around the province welcome visitors.
Event Coordinator Camille Coulombe of the Agricultural Alliance of New Brunswick says people can learn about how farms work and where New Brunswick food comes and what types of local products come from farms.
“It’s a chance for folks to see what life is like on a farm and see the time and energy that is dedicated by producers into their farms,” Coulombe said.
Coulombe says it’s very family-friendly with guided tours, demonstrations, wagon rides, u-picks and even a hay bale throwing competition.
29 different farms are participating in Open Farm Day.
