Kids in New Brunswick will start hitting the books next week as the first days of classes begin.
However, a lot of work has already been done at the schools throughout the summer preparing for their return.
Zoe Watson, superintendent for the Anglophone South School District, says men and women have been working very hard on the custodial side.
“They are doing a lot of deep cleaning of our schools, moving furniture, relocating teachers within the school,” said Watson.
Crews have been hard at work doing projects throughout the district.
“We also have a team of tradespeople doing electrical projects, carpentry projects, our capital improvement projects, those are the larger ones,” stated Watson.
Some schools have even had exterior work done according to the Superintendent.
“We had a large paving project done at Simonds High School, there was paving at Sussex High and also around Lakewood Heights School, a window project at Bayside Middle School and Deer Island Community School,” said Watson.
