There will be 600 opportunities less than last summer for students looking to get their hands on a SEED voucher.
Additionally, the employment period for University students will be of 12 weeks whereas it was 14 last summer.
For college and high school students, that period will be 8 weeks rather than 9.
Kjeld-Mizpah Conyers-Steede is the general director of the New Brunswick Student Alliance.
He says the alliance is concerned about the impact this will have on students and the province.
Conyers-Steede says New Brunswick students have some of the highest student loan debts in the country.
He adds that summer employment is critical for students to be able to pay for their education while gaining valuable work experience.
Although the province has other programs to help students find employment, Conyers-Steede says they are designed for university students whereas the SEED program was available for those in various post-secondary institutions.
