Heavy rainfall for Friday means more reminders to report flooding.
Jasmin Boisvert, Water Resources Specialist with Environment and Local Government, says while it’s impossible for Riverwatch to monitor every small stream in the province, residents can help in reporting flooding through the Riverwatch website.
“If you see anything going on and you see anything flooded or roads being affected or ice jams forming, by all means, call the emergency measures number”, stated Boisvert.
He says today’s forecasted rainfall of around 20 millimetres for Saint John isn’t at a level which would commonly overwhelm municipal systems.
But he says residents should still be on the lookout to report any plugged catch basins or streams.
