A member of the jury has been replaced in Devin Morningstar’s trial for first degree murder and arson in connection with the killing of 18-year old Baylee Wylie.
The trial start was delayed after a female member of the jury was excused and replaced by the first alternate.
The alternate is also a woman so the jury composition remains the same at 7 women and 5 men.
Justice John Walsh delivered his instructions to the jury which include avoiding all media reports for the duration of the trial, and not speaking of the case to anyone else.
Walsh stressed Morningstar is presumed innocent, and that only changes if or when the Crown is able to prove guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.
The trial continues this afternoon in Moncton with the opening address from Crown counsel Marc Savoie.
