A near record in home sales last month in the area according to the Saint John Real Estate Board.
They totalled 256, an increase of 51 and a half percent from a year earlier.
In the first 8 months of this year, home sales have exceeded 13 hundred and 50 which is 16.7 percent higher than for the same period in 2015.
The average price for homes sold last month locally was over $165 thousand. That’s an increase of 3.4 percent from the same month in 2015.
