Premier Brian Gallant says he’s listening to New Brunswickers who want help to become more fluent in a second-language so they can compete for bilingual jobs.
The province has announced one million dollars to provide free second-langauage training to unemployed adults.
E.I. recipients will be able to continue getting those benefits while they receive the training.
The second-language training will be offered at New Brunswick Community Colleges with beginner, intermediate and advanced levels depending on demand.
The government will be working with colleges to ensure seats are available.
The program starts in January.
