The interim leader of the New Brunswick Progressive Conservatives says the party is excited about the next two years given that a new leader will be chosen next month.
Bruce Fitch says a permanent leader will be able to forge a new path forward.
Fitch says the Gallant government has been less than impressive halfway through its mandate.
“We’ve seen poor government decisions, poor policy decisions in the last two years that have hurt the province, the people of the province and the investment here in the province,” he notes.
The Progressive Conservatives will choose a new leader on October 22 in Fredericton among seven candidates vying for the position.
In the running are Moncton lawyer Monica Barley, former Saint John mayor Mel Norton, MLA’s Blaine Higgs, Brian MacDonald and Jake Stewart, former MP Mike Allen along with former MLA and MP Jean Dube.
