Visitors flocked to the Magnetic Hill Zoo last year and it appears as though they’re do the same this season.
The growth of the Magnetic Hill Zoo, and the addition of new exhibits and animals, appears to be attracting more visitors.
Zoo Manager Bruce Dougan says it has been a busy year so far, “Last year, we welcomed 171, 000 visitors and at last count, about a week and a half ago, we were about five per cent over that attendance so far this year.”
The Magnetic Hill Zoo is the largest in Atlantic Canada, and Dougan says more growth is planned. They currently sit on 35 acres, but Dougan says in their 5 year plan, they hope to expand to 60 acres.
