Your dog can be your best friend–so be a pal to your pet this summer and don’t allow them to suffer needlessly in hot and muggy conditions.
Hilary Howes of the provincial society for the prevention of cruelty to animals tells CHSJ News if you leave your pet outside, take a few precautions to make sure they stay hydrated: namely, making sure that dogs tied outside for any length of time have access to cool water and shade, or that you bring them inside where there’s A/C on really warm days.
If you have a kiddie pool, it may also be a good idea to let your pup paddle around for a while if it’s hot out.
