Arthur remains a very potent post-tropical storm and will be tracking across the southern Gulf of St Lawrence this evening.
Current radar data indicates rain across much of New Brunswick and eastern Quebec.
St. Stephen has reported amounts slightly over 130 millimetres so far and more heavy rain is expected during the next few hours which will lead to more localized flooding. Severe winds are currently affecting Nova Scotia where wind gusts near 120 km/h have been reported and widespread tree damage has been reported throughout the regions affected.
In Saint John, winds are at 40 kilometers an hour gusting up to 63 and trees are still toppling over on to power lines all over the city.
The number of power outages has increased significantly.
