We’ve all heard about the shortage of skilled tradespeople in New Brunswick, and the need to get those workers trained here at home.
Co-ordinator Gina O’Rourke McKay tells CHSJ News nb-map is a training program which helps set up people starting out in the trades with skilled mentors, while building projects in the community like the Safe Harbour Youth House on Broad Street.
The goal of the nb-map program to train a thousand mentors in a thousand days started earlier this month.
