The Red Cross setting up a toll-free phone line for people in Moncton who can’t return to their homes in the area locked down by police or for those who are sheltered inside their homes.
Anyone in the cordoned-off area or staying safe inside that may be running low on food or medications or medical supplies can contact the Canadian Red Cross toll-free at 1-800-222-9597.
Disaster volunteers with the Red Cross are also making arrangements to open emergency shelters if needed for residents that can’t return to their homes.
Calls will be answered by at the Red Cross 24-hour client service centre here in Saint John.
