$50,000 from the City of Saint John will make Christmas a little bit brighter at the Cherry Brook Zoo.
They had asked for a service contract which would see them get $60,000 a year over 3 to 5 years.
Lyndra Collrin says they are grateful but this will change how to they do things meaning the board will have to sit down and discuss the future.
She says the truth is they could have receive zero funding saying that possibility is always there.
Collrin says this money will be used for their everyday expenses and to feed their animals.
She says one of the biggest costs for the zoo is the price of hay because it changes year to year.
