Being hungry over the holidays would not be fun.
Regional food banks need help to keep the folks who rely on them fed this time of year.
David McCready of the Community Food Basket on Union Street in Saint John says they can really use cash donations.
He says they know how much cheese they have and how many eggs so if they have the eggs they can distribute it efficiently.
McCready points out cash donations also go towards paying their electric bill and filling the oil tank.
All of the local food banks are partnering with Irving Oil for Food Bank Fridays.
McCready says the Community Food Basket has teamed up with Irving Oil across the street.
He says they get cash from the employees who pay to dress down on Fridays.
