A New Brunswick group fighting poverty wants to see people working for a higher minimum wage.
The Common Front for Social Justice wants to see the hourly rate increase from to $15.00 an hour from $10.30–the lowest in the country.
Energy and Mines Minister Donald Arsenault says it’s too bad when government’s change and planned increases are scrapped.
He says Liberal government’s increase minimum wage and when the Conservatives come in they cancael the schedule. He says he felt that was an attack on those working for minimum wage.
He says when he was the Minister for Post Secondary Education Training and Labour they wanted to get the mininum wage up to the Atlantic average and put forward a two year schedule to achieve that.
