The Gallant government is looking into a new way to make money: letting third parties buy the naming rights to certain government-owned assets like new or renovated buildings, bridges and parks.
The province says the point of thsi would be to help cover the capital cost of building and maintaining assets. It would not include schools or hospitals.
The province says while the potential revenue woudl depend on how aggresively opportunities are pursue, it’s estimated that $2-million could be raised through this program.
