A firm reminder from RCMP. Check you privacy settings before posting photos on social media.
A number of complaints have been reported to RCMP about pictures from social media sites being shared to websites without the owners permission.
Many of the photos in question, came from Facebook, but RCMP says once your information has been shared on the internet, it can be very difficult to prevent it from going further.
Constable Jullie Rogers-Marsh says you need to do your research into what’s private and what’s not.
She says in these particular cases, there doesn’t appear to be anything criminal, but theire internet child exploitation unit is assisting.
The information off the website in question has since been removed.
