Police arresting who they believe is a local fire bug.
RCMP in St. George arresting a 37-year-old man from Rollingdam, after getting a call Friday, May 8th, shortly after 12 noon from the Department of Natural Resources, that someone was lighting grass fires on a privately owned wooded property in Clarence Ridge.
The wooded area is located near Road 24 in the Clarence Ridge area.
The fires were put out by DNR and the property owner, but the amount of woodland that was destroyed hasn’t been determined. There were no structures damaged in the incident.
The man was released on a promise to appear in St. Stephen Court July 28th to face charges.
