Recovery efforts in Nepal continue almost two weeks after a 7.8 magnitude quake devastated the region.
Incoming president and CEO for World Vision Canada Michael Messenger has just returned from the disaster zone, and he says some of the stories he heard were devastating.
He says some families whose homes have been destroyed are now living under a tarp and trying to determine what will happen next.
He also heard stories about a mother who gave her life for her 5-year-old daughter, by using her body to protect the child. The mother was unfortunately killed in the earthquake.
Another mother told Messenger about the tragic loss of her six-year-old son, and how it felt to see their lives utterly destroyed.
Over 7500 people were killed in the quake.
Messenger says aid continues to pour into the region, to help the many who are still in need.
