21 salmon conservation projects in New Brunswick are getting funding this year from the Atlantic Salmon Conservation Foundation.
ASCF Executive Director Stephen Chase says it’s nice to be able to award $332, 423 in funding to projects in the province.
The projects in New Brunswick cover just about every place in the province where salmon exist, from the Miramichi and Kennebecasis rivers, to Shediac Bay, and the inner Bay of Fundy.
This is the 9th year of awarding grants and Chase says it underscores their commitment to preserving and growing the fragile and vulnerable salmon stocks in the province.
The ASCF has supports a full spectrum of conservation efforts ranging from hands on habitat restoration, to scientific research and even watershed management planning.
