The Greater Moncton SPCA has families foster animals all the time, but a turkey?
Herbie, who was found running loose on Main Street, is in great shape with his wings clipped, and his nails looked after.
He is currently being held for the for the four day stray period, and if an Owner doesn’t come forward, he’ll be put up for adoption.
Executive Director Karen Nelson says they’ll be screening interested parties carefully to ensure Herbie isn’t being put on the chopping block.
She says, “They will have an interview, and we will be determining why they want the turkey and what they will be doing with it.”
As to how much the adoption fee for a turkey will be? Nelson says they’re still trying to figure that out.
