A historic first for the province of New Brunswick. The Esso Cup is coming in 2026.
Dieppe will host Canada’s Under-18 Women’s National Club Championship from April 19 to 25.
Hockey Canada made the announcement on Thursday in Lloydminster, Alta. They were the hosts for the 2025 Esso Cup.
The Moncton Rockets, members of the Maritime Major Female Hockey League (MMFHL), will welcome five regional champions to compete at the UNIplex next year.
It’s the fourth time the Rockets will compete in the event, with previous appearances in 2010, 2014, and 2015.
“Dieppe is recognized as the largest Acadian city in the world and the largest Francophone community in Canada outside of Quebec. We’re very proud to be able to host an event of this magnitude, which will bring lasting benefits to our residents,” said Mayor Yvon Lapierre.
“We’re excited to offer young athletes a memorable sporting and cultural experience in an environment where Acadian pride remains strong.”
Hockey Canada, Hockey New Brunswick and the City of Dieppe are partnering for the event.
“We’re absolutely thrilled to welcome the nation’s top U18 AAA female hockey teams and players to our community for the 2026 Esso Cup,” said Mélanie McGrath, co-chair of the Esso Cup host organizing committee.
“This tournament is a celebration of talent, determination, and the bright future of women’s hockey in Canada. We’re honoured to be part of this incredible event and can’t wait to create unforgettable memories for the players, families, and fans.”
