A 32-year-old man from Sussex is facing charges after a shooting incident in the town.
RCMP responded to a report of a firearm discharge at a home on Nelson Street last Thursday around 10:44 p.m.
Police say the man allegedly fired several shots toward the homeowner, with another person also inside the house.
Officers contained the area, and the homeowner safely left the house.
The suspect was arrested after negotiations with police, and no one was injured.
A firearm and ammunition were taken from the house later that day as part of the Mounties’ investigation.
RCMP said the man appeared in court on Tuesday and was charged with discharging a firearm with intent and uttering threats.
He was released with strict conditions, including wearing an ankle monitoring device, following a nightly curfew, and being banned from returning to the residence.
The accused is also prohibited from contacting the victim or possessing any weapons.
His next court appearance is scheduled for May 20.
