A man has been arrested after allegedly stealing a vehicle from a drive-thru in east Saint John.
Police said the incident happened in the McAllister Drive area at around 2 p.m. Wednesday.
Investigators said the suspect approached a vehicle at a local drive-thru and tried to get inside.
“The suspect then assaulted a male in the parking lot and made further attempts to enter other vehicles,” police said in a news release.
The man then went to an adjacent business and approached another vehicle in the drive-thru.
Investigators said the driver was assaulted and the suspect stole the vehicle and left the scene.
Patrol officers located the stolen vehicle on the city’s west side and arrested the suspect a short time later.
A 33-year-old man is due to appear in court on Thursday morning to face charges.
“Victims are recovering from their physical injuries sustained from the assault,” said the release.
