A new pilot program aims to support international PhDs and MDs in securing careers in the Saint John region.
Envision Saint John has teamed up with community partners to launch the International Postgraduate Pilot Initiative.
Officials said many internationally trained professionals face barriers to employment in their respective fields, despite their expertise and qualifications.
The pilot aims to bridge the gap by offering customized career action plans, networking opportunities and direct engagement with employers and community organizations.
“Saint John is home to an increasing number of highly skilled international professionals, and we want to ensure they have the support and pathways needed to succeed in our region,” Daniel Rito, director of population growth and workforce development at Envision, said in the release.
“This initiative will help connect these talented individuals with resources, mentorship, and professional networks.”
The initiative will select 10 participants for its 2025 cohort. Applications are open until April 30.
