Gasoline and diesel prices will drop dramatically across New Brunswick on Monday night.
The carbon price paid by consumers will be set at zero as of Tuesday, April 1.
It was a move announced by the Liberal government just two days before the election.
The carbon tax adds more than 17 cents plus tax to a litre of gasoline and 21 cents plus tax to a litre of diesel.
As a result, an industry source says prices will come down around 20 cents for gasoline and nearly 25 cents for diesel.
Maximum prices currently range from $1.64 for regular self-serve gasoline to $1.86 for diesel.
