It is described as a first-of-its-kind accreditation for a Master of Business Administration program in Canada.
The University of New Brunswick has partnered with Supply Chain Canada to introduce a supply chain accreditation.
Students pursuing their MBA at the Saint John campus can also fulfill the pre-education requirements for the Supply Chain Management Professional designation.
Graduates who achieve at least a B in the supply chain management stream will gain advanced standing in the designation program and will be exempt from all modules and workshops.
Officials said this will make it faster and more cost-effective to earn Canada’s top supply chain management credential.
“This is a very exciting day for Supply Chain Canada, our new partnership with UNB will allow us to work more closely together, advocating for the supply chain industry, while developing supply chain professionals who are ready for the future,” Dylan Bartlett, president and CEO of Supply Chain Canada, said in a news release.
Dr. Petra Hauf, UNB’s provost and vice president academic, said the accreditation will help graduates transition into the workforce quickly and with greater experience.
“Additionally, it will support local economic growth by providing businesses and organizations in New Brunswick and beyond with a strong pipeline of skilled professionals.”
Graduates can pursue careers in supply chain fields, including supply chain management, procurement management, logistics management, inventory management and operations management.
