A bomb threat forced the evacuation of a school in the Millidgeville neighbourhood of Saint John.
Saint John police said officers were called to Centre scolaire Samuel-de-Champlain on Wednesday morning.
Det. Sgt. Matt Weir said school officials had already started to evacuate the building when officers arrived.
“Our officers investigated the matter and found that there was no credibility to the threat,” Weir told our newsroom in an email.
“Officers conducted a thorough search of the area and did not find anything hazardous.”
Students were evacuated to an off-site location but Weir said the school has since resumed regular activities.
Jean-Luc Thériault, a spokesperson for the Francophone South School District, said the evacuation began around 10:50 a.m. and students returned to the school just before noon.
