Sad news out of the community of Salisbury.
Capt. Tim Dryden, a 27-year veteran of the town’s volunteer fire and rescue department, has passed away.
“Captain Tim Dryden served had a great passion for the work he did. Tim joined the department right before he finished high school and never looked back. He was a very active member of the department. He has been part of different organizations within the department as well as New Brunswick fire service in general. He was loved by everyone in the department. He was a social butterfly. He knew so many people and he will be missed,” Fire Chief Brad MacLeod told our newsroom.
Dryden was also the main organizer of the annual open house and served as the department’s fire prevention officer.
Chief MacLeod says plans are currently underway for a service to honour Dryden.
“A truly great individual who volunteered for the community. I had known him for over 15 years. He contributed so much on a daily basis. Tim was a boisterous, and fun-loving individual. He always had a presence. He would take over a room with his laughter, jokes and storytelling. Our community is better off because of his service, and his passing is a great loss to both the Salisbury Fire Rescue Department and our community at large,” Salisbury Mayor Robert Campbell added.
Comments have also been pouring in on social media in support of Dryden’s family, firefighters and others in the community.
Dryden was 45 years old.
