Parts of the province are in for some big waves.
Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement for Moncton and southeastern New Brunswick, the Miramichi and area, Kent County, and Kouchibouguac National Park.
It calls for wave heights 3 to 5 metres and pounding surf to produce higher than normal water levels along north facing coastlines on Friday afternoon during high tide.
The forecaster advises that such large waves can cause coastal erosion in vulnerable areas plus damage to the shoreline infrastructure.

Much of Prince Edward Island is also expected to see rough waters hitting its shores on Friday afternoon.
