RCMP are urging New Brunswick parents to discuss with kids the importance of avoiding strangers this school year.
Cpl. Hans Ouellette said safety education is important as it helps build a child’s confidence and critical thinking skills and prepares them for situations they may encounter.
“Talk to their kids or their school children about who will pick them up from school, give them a list of those people, who from the family or from the friends will pick you up from school,” said Ouellette.
Ouellette also suggests talking about school pick-up details, like designated guardians, and having a secret password for safety.
